Good morning Year 2! We are half way through the week already. Well done to those children who have worked hard so far this week, you have produced some excellent work. We have another busy day ahead of us today and then tomorrow we can enjoy some reading activities so we can celebrate World Book Day.

English Starter

Spelling police! Today, I need you to be the spelling police. How many spellings can you correct? Please don’t write out the full sentences. All you need to do is write the incorrect word out and write the correct spelling next to it.

English

In English today, I am going to give you a bit of free choice so I can see what you can do. We have been learning about non-chronological reports and you are getting very good at them.

You are going to pick a topic of your choice, it could be an animal, it could be a movie or it could be your favourite character. You are going to write your own non-chronological report. Remember, it needs:

  • a title
  • subheadings
  • captions
  • factual information
  • an introduction, middle section and ending

Today is your chance to show off and show me what you can do. Use lots of different skills and try and make your writing fantastic! Finally, make sure you use your neatest handwriting.

In Maths today, we are going to continue with column subtraction but today we are going to look at regrouping – it is going to get a little bit harder. Watch the video below to help you.
