Wednesday 27th January – Reception

Hello Reception,

I hope that you are all ok and keeping busy. Thank you for keeping in touch with me, it has been lovely to hear from so many of you this week. All of the work you have been doing is fantastic, keep going!

Please remember I will do 2 drop-in zoom sessions a day, one at 10.30am and one at 2pm. You can ask any questions you wish to or show me some of your work. I will also read a story on an afternoon so feel free to drop in.

This morning your job is to practice using the phonemes we have been learning to write some words. Watch the video and see if you can join in:

This morning’s exercise is Andy’s Wild Workouts.

Phonics Activity

Today, we are going to learn a new phoneme. I would like you to watch both the video of me doing the action and also the video of the lady practicing the new phoneme. Can you join in with them?

Maths Activity

Please click on the link and watch session 1 – five currant buns. Please join in with the video and then see if you can make up your own rhyme with 5 objects in. Can you count back from 5?

Today, we are going to read the next part of Hairy Maclary. Watch the video and see if you can join in with the questions.

Other activities:

  • Read a phonics book on oxford owl or you can read your own phonics book if you have one. Remember to keep practicing so you become fluent with reading. Free eBook library | Oxford Owl from Oxford University Press.
  • Help make some food with your family. I am going to make a sandwich and then cut it into 4 triangles. I wonder if you could cut some bread into 4 triangles?
  • Use your cutting skills to make some shapes out of paper.
  • Do some crafts. You could find some ribbon, string, wool or scrap pieces of paper and make a picture. You could make a model using recycling boxes.

Well done Reception, your work for today is complete. Please try and upload your child’s work by completing the submission below. Please note, your child’s work will not be published on the website, it will be sent privately to me. Alternatively, if you have trouble uploading it below, please email the work over to me.
