Spellings and

Zoom meetings are there if you need them. If your child is finding the work tricky just drop in and out of the meeting when you need to.

Any concerns please message me by email on

If you would like a book from school, please let me know and I will get one ready for you to collect.

Please can you keep recording in your child’s Home Reading record so we can continue to achieve 3 reads a week. If you could email a picture of your child’s Home Reader, at the end of the week so I can make a note of their reads, that would be great!

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Kentfield-Howe

Second Read.

Read your book.

How many phonic sounds and tricky words can you find?

Lexia children- Make sure you access your activities each day.

Task 1- Today, can you talk about music and songs.

Join in with Cara and Martin and learn how to discuss music using different vocabulary.

Pick any song you like and listen to it. What do you like about it?

Musical Features

Music is made of lots of different elements that make up how it sounds.

These features can be described using key words like loud and quiethigh and lowfast and slowlong and short.

The tempo – Is the music fast, slow or in between? Does the tempo change throughout the piece? Does the music speed up or slow down?

The dynamics – Is the music loud, quiet or in between? Are the dynamics the same throughout the piece or do they vary?

We can use these words and many more to describe the elements of a piece of music.

Your Turn:

Listen to some music what can you say about it?

Is it fast or slow? Does it have loud sections, quiet sections or both? What instruments are being used? Is there a singer? What is the mood of the piece – how does it make you feel? Does the piece sound like it’s in a particular style?
