Tuesday 23rd February – Reception
I hope you have all had a fantastic half term and enjoyed a well needed rest. I would love to hear what you were busy doing in half term, maybe you could draw me a picture. Hopefully this half term we will all be back together again. I am missing you all very much.
Please remember I will do 2 drop-in zoom sessions a day, one at 10.30am and one at 2pm. You can ask any questions you wish to or show me some of your work. I will also read a story on an afternoon so feel free to drop in.
This mornings job is to practice ordering your numbers. I would like you to write the numbers from 1-10 on a piece of paper. Get some scissors and cut them all up and then put them in the correct order. Remember to send me a picture. For an extra challenge, try and order the numbers from 1-20.
This morning our exercise is singing the little green frog song. I hope you all enjoy this.
Today we are going to learn a new phoneme. Watch the video and join in. After watching the video, I would like you to write 3 words including the ‘ng’ diagraph. Can you use one of your words to tell someone a sentence or write a sentence? You could ask someone in your family to help if you find it tricky.
Today we are going to look at some measuring again. Watch my video to see my sunflower grow, try your best to count the cubes with me to see if it gets any taller. After watching the video, I would like you to find some objects in your house to measure. These can be any objects you would like and you could measure them using cubes, a ruler, your hands or some pasta shells to see how many shells high the object is.
Choose one of your favourite stories at home. Ask someone in your family to read it with you. Can you see who the author is? What do you think might happen? You could make your own prediction before you read it. Enjoy a nice afternoon reading the book you enjoy the most.
- Read a phonics book on oxford owl or you can read your own phonics book if you have one. Remember to keep practicing so you become fluent with reading. Free eBook library | Oxford Owl from Oxford University Press
- Draw a picture to show me your favourite activities from over half term.
- Count 11 objects in your house.
- Do some arts and crafts. You could make a model, draw a picture, do some painting or enjoy some gluing.
- Watch the alphabet song. Can you remember each letter name and letter sound?
Well done Reception, your work for today is complete. I hope you have had a lovely day. Take lots of care, Miss Stone x
