Hello children, I hope you have all had a lovely week off learning with your family and are well rested. This half term we will be continuing learning from home as we did before until we are all able to return to school safely.

Spelling

Over the next 2 weeks we will be focussing our spellings on common exception words as these don’t particularly follow a pattern so it is important that you learn them and apply them correctly when writing.

Group 1

could, friend, their, there, most, kind, child, cold, move, only, parents, busy, whole, climb, prove

Group 2

when, like, little, your, come, our, there, have, what, out

Group 3

has, was, you, my, are, we, all, she, her, into

TASK: I would like you to read the words for your group above and make sure you understand what they say. Then, I would like you to choose 6 of them and apply into sentences taking care with your handwriting, capital letters and full stops.

English

This half term we are moving away from Fiction writing and looking at Non-Fiction writing. The genre we will be looking at is Recounts (Diary writing) I would like to see what you already know about this genre of writing.

Please don’t worry if you don’t know much about them, by the end of the half term you will! PLEASE DO NOT LOOK ON THE INTERNET.

Tomorrow, I will explain a little bit more about this kind of writing and we will be looking at the features

TASK: I would love to hear about a day in the holidays. Can you write a recount/diary entry about one of your days in the holidays. Tell me everything!
