Thursday 4th February
Good morning Year 2, start your day by having a singalong and a dance to the song below. It’s the first time I have heard this song and I think it is quite catchy. Hopefully, it will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
Here is your timetable for today…
Sorry in advance – I will not be available for the English and Maths zoom sessions this morning as I have training. I will be available on the 2:15pm zoom session if anyone wants to drop on.
Today is spelling test day because tomorrow we are having a special day. Ask your mum or dad to test you on your spellings, remember to send me your scores so I can award you with a badge on Marvellous Me.
After you have completed your spelling test, put them into sentences like my examples below.
Please re write the sentences below and put the commas in the correct place. Remember we use commas to separate items in a list.
I am happy kind caring and helpful.
My dog is funny sleepy and smelly.
I bought some pears apples bananas cherries and grapes.
The weather is cold snowy and frosty.
In English today, you are going to be writing a letter to a friend who you are missing. In your letter, I want you to talk about the following things:
- Tell your friend why you are missing them.
- Tell your friend how you have been spending your days.
- Tell your friend what you would like to do when you see them again at school.
- Tell your friend how you are feeling at the minute.
- Tell your friend what you have been doing to keep busy.
- Tell your friend what toys or games you have been playing with at home.
Have a look at the start of my letter below, it might give you some more ideas. Remember to include English skills that we have been working on and make sure it is your best writing. After you have written your letter, you could send it to them or if you would like me to email the letter to them, I can do that also.
Today, for your Maths Meeting, I would like you to complete column subtraction. Yesterday you did column addition so I think you will be amazing at this again today. Watch the video below and I will explain what you need to do then complete the calculations.
