Learning and caring together

Friends of Handale

We are a parent/carer run committee and are extremely conscious of the ethos and diversity of our school and try very hard when organising and planning events. We meet on a regular basis within school to discuss events and how the funds will be spent.

We raise money in many different ways through events that we run, e.g. disco, bingo, fairs, raffles, weekly tuck shop and blind cards etc. Any unwanted gifts or vouchers that could be used as raffle or tombola prizes are always greatly received.

Over time we have developed strong links with the local community and are always extremely well supported by both residents and businesses, for which we are very grateful.

We as a constitution decide how the money we raise is spent not the school and the children. Our priority is to ensure that what we do will benefit the children. The monies we raise helps towards funding our events, helping towards school trips and residential visits as well as treats like pantomimes coming into school and reward parties to name a few.

We currently have a full committee which consists of:

  • Marie Oakley (Staff member & Parent)
  • Emma Matthews (Parent)
  • Gemma Harrison (Parent)
  • Emma Purver (School Governor & Parent)
  • Stacey Found (Parent)

If you wish to be more involved in what we do we are happy to take ideas for events or different ways to raise money as well as helping to collect prizes for raffles, tombola’s and helping at events should you be able to help.

These are a few of the events held in school 2022 -2023

  • School fair
  • Bingo nights
  • Disco’s
  • Tombola
  • Tuck shop
